PPS Injection Molding Scheme for IGBT Module of New Energy Vehicle

IGBT is the core component of new energy vehicles, and PPS special engineering plastics can meet its high requirements. At the beginning of mold opening, CNC can be used to make hand model, and DFM technology is used to avoid problems in mold design. PPS shall be pre-dried before injection molding. During processing, the mold temperature is 150 ℃, the barrel is 300 ℃, and the injection pressure is 30 ~ 100MPa. The development of new energy vehicles promotes the expansion of demand for IGBT modules and poses new challenges to precision injection molding.

As the core component of new energy vehicles, IGBT is the core component of electronic control system and DC charging pile. IGBT module frame is made of plastic parts, and it is a plastic with stable mechanical performance, high dimensional accuracy, high tensile strength, high insulation and high CTI value, and can work at an ambient temperature of -40 ℃ ~ 220 ℃, while special engineering plastic PPS can well meet these requirements.

This product requires relatively high requirements, so in the early stage of mold opening, we can first make a hand model by CNC finishing, compare the requirements of the drawings, and check the appearance and structure rationality of the IGBT housing so as to correct it in time.

DFM engineering technology can be used in the mold design process to analyze the mold flow of the injection runner to avoid problems such as insufficient internal stress shrinkage due to mold reasons in the injection molding process.

Before injection molding, PPS needs to be pre-dried. As the core component of the motor module of new energy vehicles, the harsh working environment is also a test for the strength of the IGBT housing itself. The pre-dried material can obtain more stable performance.

For this kind of high-temperature special engineering plastics, the mold temperature during injection molding needs to reach 150 degrees Celsius, the barrel temperature needs to reach 300 degrees Celsius, and the injection pressure is preferably 30 ~ 100MPa. Can effectively reduce the flash.

Under the current trend of new energy vehicles advocating energy conservation, environmental protection and lightweight, the precision electronics, photovoltaic new energy and other fields downstream of the motor IGBT module are still developing rapidly, and the demand for IGBT modules in various industries is also gradually expanding, which will promote the precision injection molding of special plastic parts to achieve new challenges.
